According to the news of The Express Tribune, the death occurred near the commissioner’s office, where two mini trucks carrying 200 bags each were selling flour outside Gulistan-e-Baldia Park. Mini trucks were selling flour bags of 10 kg each at the rate of Rs 65 per kg. People had gathered around the vehicles in a chaotic manner. They were pushing each other to grab the bags.

The people crushed the man

The Express Tribune reported, according to the police, 40-year-old laborer Harsingh Kolhi fell on the road during the commotion and was crushed to death by the people around. It is not yet known what caused the stampede. Kolhi’s family staged a sit-in for five hours outside the Mirpurkhas Press Club, demanding action against the Food Department officials.

Three including minor injured in second stampede

They left after the police assured action against those responsible for the accident. Till now the FIR has not been lodged in the incident. Similar scenes of chaos were seen in all parts of Sindh where flour was being sold through mini trucks or vans. In another case, three women, including a minor girl, were reported injured when a stampede broke out outside a flour mill in Sakrand town of Shaheed Benazirabad (formerly Nawabshah) while buying cheap flour at government rates.

20 kg flour bag for Rs 2,800 

Amidst the crisis of inflation in Pakistan, the prices of wheat and flour have reached an unprecedented level. After a rise of Rs 20 in Pakistan, flour is being sold at Rs 140 to Rs 160 a kg in Karachi. 10 kg flour sack is being sold in Islamabad and Peshawar for Rs 1500 per kg. A 20 kg bag of flour is being sold for Rs 2,800 in Quetta.

The Express Tribune reported, meanwhile Balochistan’s Food Minister Zamark Achakzai also made a shocking revelation, saying that the stock of wheat in the province has completely exhausted, adding that the crisis for the commodity in the province deepens. Is. In a press conference on this issue, the provincial minister said that Balochistan has not got the required stock of wheat. He said that the Chief Minister of Punjab province has been requested to send 6 lakh bags of wheat.
