Pakistan Journalist Kidnapped: Terrorist activities are increasing in Pakistan which is struggling with economic poverty. Along with this, there has also been an increase in the cases of kidnapping. In the latest case, the news of kidnapping of a Pakistani journalist has come to the fore. According to the report, Syed Muhammad Askari, senior reporter of Daily Jung, has been kidnapped from Karachi. After which there has been a stir in the media world of Pakistan.
According to the report of Geo News, Syed Muhammad Askari was returning from a party on Saturday night when his car was stopped by some masked youths on Korangi Road in Karachi by hand. Some of the kidnappers were in uniform while some were in plain clothes. After which the journalist introduced himself, but the kidnappers did not listen. The masked men first abused Syed Muhammad Askari, then thrashed him and took him away.
What did the eyewitnesses see
When a friend of the abducted journalist told the police about the incident, the policemen did not take it seriously. Eventually the police postponed it by asking to contact the concerned police station. According to The News International, the whereabouts of the kidnapped journalist were not known till the wee hours of Sunday.
Police gave clarification
SHO Rao Rafiq of Zaman Town police station was also informed about the incident, but he denied any knowledge. However, Korangi SSP Tariq Nawaz said that the incident is being investigated. Soon we will get success in this matter.
