Imran Khan: Imran Khan was shifted from Attock jail to high security Adiala jail, know the reason.

Pakistan: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, arrested in a corruption case, was taken from Attock jail to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday night. According to local media reports, a police convoy of 18 cars took Imran Khan to Rawalpindi jail. It is noteworthy that the Islamabad High Court on Monday had ordered the transfer of the former Prime Minister from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. 

According to Dawn report, the distance from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail is more than 100 km. At the same time, Adiala Jail is located at a distance of 30 km from Islamabad. Such accused have been kept here, whose cases are being heard in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. According to the report, when Imran Khan was being shifted from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail, special security arrangements were made. The highway was completely evacuated. Besides, the route was being monitored through CCTV. Policemen were sitting in vehicles wearing protective shields to keep an eye on any suspicious activity.

Imran Khan was taken in jail van 

According to the report, an ambulance was also running behind the jail van carrying Imran Khan. Let us tell you that Imran Khan was arrested on August 5 in the Toshakhana case, since then he was lodged in Attock jail of Punjab province. Although his sentence was suspended on August 29, he is still in jail in the cipher case. 

It is noteworthy that PTI had filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) in August last, keeping in mind Khan’s rich family background, social and political status, requesting to transfer him to Adiala Jail, where ‘A’ A range of facilities are available. After which the Chief Justice of IHC appointed PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
