According to the report of Global News, protests are going to be held outside the Indian Consulates in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver next week. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal advisor of Sikhs for Justice, said, "We will not allow Indian consulates to function and we will pressure the Canadian government to name the individuals who are responsible for killing Nijjar and ordering his killing."

Demand to expel the Indian High Commissioner

This organization is demanding the expulsion of Indian High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Verma. The organization had described this murder as an attack on Sikhs and Canadian sovereignty. Meanwhile, Harkireet Kaur, a member of the North American Sikh Association, said that Hardeep was like a father in the Gurudwara. People are angry right now. This is a news which has obviously shocked the entire country.

Canadian PM had expressed doubt on India

At the same time, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed on Monday (18 September 2023) that “An agent of the Indian government was behind this murder. They have received intelligence about this.” After this, Trudeau also expelled a top diplomat of India. At the same time, India’s Foreign Ministry has denied these claims of Trudeau and retaliated by dismissing the Canadian diplomat. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs wrote, “We urge the Government of Canada to take prompt and effective legal action against all anti-India elements operating from its soil.”
