The number of 5G network sites in India has crossed two lakh mark with the commissioning of a new unit in Uttarakhand’s Gangotri on Wednesday.The 5G site at Gangotri was inaugurated by Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami .

Speaking on the occasion, Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Practically one 5G site is being activated every minute. The world is surprised to see this.

In the first five months of the launch of 5G service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 1, 5G equipment was installed at one lakh places.
