Twitter co-founder deletes Instagram account, explains reason for stopping posting

Jack Dorsey Quits Instagram: Jack Dorsey has deleted his Instagram account. He has shared this information through a Nostr post. While sharing the post, he wrote that I don’t know why it took me so long to delete it. I was one of the first 10 accounts and first angel investor on the platform. He wrote that Kelvin was an intern with me at Odeo. For those who don’t know who Kevin Systrom is, it was actually Calvin who started Instagram with Mike Krieger.

Odeo, the organization founded in 2005 by Noah Glass and Evan Williams, was later renamed as Obvious Corporation and became the birthplace of Twitter.

That’s why posting on the app was stopped

Jack said that when Instagram was sold to Facebook (now Meta), he stopped posting in the app and reduced its use. Jack and Kevin Systrom became good friends after working together at Odeo. At one time Twitter also tried to buy Instagram but it did not happen. Later, when Jack learned that Instagram was being sold to Facebook for $1 billion, he stopped posting on the app as Facebook was Twitter’s biggest competitor at the time.

Elon Musk is also far away from Meta’s apps

Twitter was bought by Elon Musk last year for $44 billion. At present, he is the owner and product head of the company. Elon Musk does not use Meta’s social media apps like Instagram and Facebook. The war of words between Alan and Mark has intensified since the arrival of Threads and the two have also prepared for a fight. Threads was initially being described as Twitter’s competitor, but this did not happen in the long run and the app’s traffic has reduced by 80 percent.
