Wipro Layoffs: The layoffs happening in the tech world are giving sleepless nights to the employees. Just last week, two top tech companies announced mass layoffs. These top tech companies include Google and Microsoft. Google fired 12,000 employees, while Microsoft fired 10,000 employees globally. Now this retrenchment has reached even the tech companies of India. In fact, Wipro, one of India’s top IT companies, has also announced layoffs.
Wipro conducts internal test
According to reports, Wipro has fired employees due to poor performance, and hundreds of fresher employees have lost their jobs. It has been revealed in the report of the company that recently the company had conducted an internal test. In this, the lowest scoring employees were asked to leave the job. The company was preparing to lay off 800 employees, but the number of retrenched employees is less. The company said, “We had to expel 452 freshers from the company as they repeatedly performed poorly in the assessment even after training.”
Wipro mail to employees
It is being said that Wipro had sent a termination letter to the affected employees. In this letter it was said that the employees are liable to pay Rs.75,000. This 75,000 rupees has been spent by the company on his training. However, Wipro further wrote in the same mail that the company has waived the amount. A fresher impressed with the job told that I had received an offer letter in January 2022, but they had onboarded me after a delay of months, and now they are firing me on the pretext of test?"
Bad times for the tech industry
