Sourav Ganguly: The Indian cricket team has reached the final of the World Test Championship 2023. In this final match, India will face Australia at the Oval in England. The Indian cricket team has made it to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship for the second time in a row by playing excellent Test cricket in the last two years. Now the challenge before the Indian team management is that what will be the playing XI of India for this explosive test final. Which player will be kept in that playing eleven and who will be dropped. Former captain Sourav Ganguly has given his opinion on this issue.
Sourav Ganguly believes that Shubman Gill will be the first choice of team management. Actually, 23-year-old Shubman Gill has played very good cricket in the last 6-7 months. He first displayed his excellent form in ODI and T20 format and then impressed everyone by showing his strong class in Test cricket.
Shubman has replaced KL Rahul in Test cricket. KL Rahul was constantly struggling with poor form, so Shubman Gill was given a chance in his place in the Indore Test against Australia. Shubman could not do anything special in the Indore Test, but had indicated a turn of the innings with some tremendous strokes, and then in the Ahmedabad Test, he played a brilliant century innings of 128 runs. Talking about this amazing form of Shubman, Sourav Ganguly said that, "He (Gill) is now a permanent player of the Indian team and when Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will sit to choose the playing XI for the World Test Championship final, both of them will tick first in the name of Shubman Gill."
350-400 to win
Sourav Ganguly while talking to Rev Sports said that, "First of all I want to congratulate India that they have defeated Australia. India has won in Australia as well as in England, so there is no reason why they cannot win in the final of WTC. You bat well, score 350-400 runs, and then you will be in a position to win." After this, talking about Shubman, Ganguly said that, "Yes (he will make a place in the team again). He has done brilliantly in the last 6-7 months. What else do they need to do? He is now a permanent player."
After that Ganguly talking about Indian spinners said that, "Ashwin and Jadeja have done very well. You should also talk about Akshar Patel. He has quietly batted well down the order, and has bowled well whenever he got the ball. This is India’s strength that we have Jadeja, Ashwin and Akshar. I know you can’t feed all three together, but they have a lot of potential."
