Steve Smith And Mitchell Starc Ruled Out: The Australian team was the first to announce its preliminary team for the ODI World Cup to be held in India from 5 October. In this, all the major players were given a place, as well as the team was announced by Cricket Australia for the ODI series against South Africa. Now before the tour of Africa, the team has got 2 major setbacks in the form of Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc.

Australia Before the ODI World Cup got a chance to play series against South Africa and then against India to strengthen their preparations. In such a situation, the team wanted to hit the ground with full potential. Although captain Pat Cummins was already ruled out of the series against Africa due to injury, but now the team has suffered a double blow with the ouster of Smith and Starc.

Steve Smith has been ruled out of both the T20 and ODI series due to a wrist injury and in his place, Ashton Turner has been included in the T20 team while Marnus Labuschagne has been included in the ODI team. Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the ODI series against Africa due to a groin problem and left-arm fast bowler Spencer Johnson has been included in his place.

Both players will return in the series against India
