Ravindra Jadeja Cricket Career: Presently Ravindra Jadeja is included in the list of top all-rounders in all three formats of cricket. Be it Test, ODI or T20 match, this player has been performing brilliantly with ball and bat in all formats. In the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he not only troubled the Australian batsmen with his balls, but also played some important innings while batting. He was also the ‘Player of the Match’ in the first match of the ODI series. But did you know that this legendary spin all-rounder once dreamed of becoming a fast bowler?
Ravindra Jadeja told his childhood dream in a conversation with Star Sports. He told that he always wanted to be a fast bowler and he liked to throw bouncers the best.
‘I wanted to throw bouncers to the batsmen’
Jadeja said, ‘When I started playing cricket, I wanted to become a fast bowler. I loved fast bowling. When other fast bowlers used to bowl bouncers, I liked to watch them. Seeing him, I also felt that I should also throw bouncers to the batsmen, but I did not have the speed to become a fast bowler. Due to not being able to do fast bowling, Jadeja gradually focused on batting and spin bowling and today he is counted among the legendary all-rounders.
‘Cricket career passed between two Mahendras’
Jadeja also told an important thing during this. He told that this cricket journey of his has passed through two Mahendras. He said, ‘I had also told Mahi Bhai that my cricket journey has been between my coach Mahendra Singh Chauhan in Jamnagar and my captain MS Dhoni in CSK. In fact, my entire cricketing career so far has passed between these two.’
