Rashid Khan created history in T20 cricket, the second bowler in the world to make this record

Rashid Khan South Africa T20 League 2023: In the South Africa T20 League, a match was played between Pretoria Capitals and Mumbai Cape Town on 23 January. This match was special for Mumbai Cape Town bowler Rashid Khan. He completed 500 wickets in his T20 career during this match. Rashid is only the second bowler in the world to take five hundred wickets in the shortest format of cricket. He set this record by bowling brilliantly against Pretoria Capitals. However, despite his excellent bowling, Pretoria Capitals defeated Mumbai Cape Town by 52 runs in this match. 

2nd bowler to take 500 wickets

Rashid Khan is only the second bowler in the world to touch the figure of 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Before the match against Pretoria Capitals, he needed three wickets to touch the magical figure of five hundred wickets. In the match against Pretoria, he bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for 16 runs. Rashid Khan has been active in T20 cricket for almost 8 years. He has done the charisma of taking 500 wickets while bowling in 368 innings of 371 T20 matches. Rashid’s best bowling performance in T20 cricket has been 6 wickets for 17 runs. 

Highest wicket taker

By the way, the record of taking the most wickets in T20 cricket is recorded by West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. Bravo took the maximum 614 wickets while bowling in 526 innings of 556 matches. During this, his best bowling performance in T20 cricket was five wickets for 23 runs. Apart from these two bowlers, Sunil Narine 474, Imran Tahir 466, Shakib Al Hasan 436 and Wahab Riaz have taken 401 wickets in T20 cricket. 

Mumbai lost to Cape Town by 56 runs

In this match played at Newlands ground, Pretoria Capitals scored 182 runs for 8 wickets while playing first. Chasing the target of 183 runs for the win, the Mumbai Cape Town team got stacked on 130 runs in 18.1 overs. In this way Pretoria Capitals won this match by 56 runs.
