R Ashwin Test Record: The first Test between India and West Indies was played in Dominica. In this match, Team India registered a spectacular victory by an innings and 141 runs. Indian spinner R Ashwin took 12 wickets in this match. He took 5 wickets in the first innings and 7 wickets in the second innings. With these wickets, Ashwin overtook former Sri Lankan veteran spinner Muttiah Muralitharan by making a very special record.

This is not the first time that Ashwin took 12 or more wickets in Test cricket. He has done this for the 6th time. At the same time, Sri Lankan veteran Muttiah Muralitharan also took 12 or more wickets six times in his career. But, Muralitharan had touched this figure in 133 Test matches and Ashwin had to resort to only 93 Test matches to reach this figure. In this way Ashwin overtook Muttiah Muralitharan.
