Asian Games 2023: India’s brilliant performance was seen on September 27 in the 19th Asian Games going on in Hangzhou, China. In Wushu, India’s Roshibina Devi has confirmed her place in the gold medal match by winning the semi-final match of women’s 60 kg category. Roshibina secured her place in the gold medal match by winning 2-0 against Vietnamese player Nguyen Thi Thu Thi in the semi-final match.
Roshibina Devi had earlier won the bronze medal in the same event in the Asian Games played in Jakarta in 2018. Now Roshibina will face Chinese player Wu Xiaowei in the gold medal match on September 28. So far, India has won 7 medals in Wushu in the Asian Games but has not been successful in winning gold even once.
Nikhat Zareen made it to the quarter finals, also won table tennis
Indian female boxer Nikhat Zareen has confirmed her place in the quarterfinals by defeating South Korea’s Chorong Bak in the pre-quarterfinal event of the women’s 50 kg weight category. Now if she succeeds in reaching the semi-finals, then she will be successful in ensuring a medal for the country.
India’s excellent performance was also seen in table tennis today. In the mixed doubles, the Indian pair of G Sathiyan and Manika Batra have now confirmed their place in the pre-quarterfinals by defeating the Thai pair. In the men’s tennis pair event, Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah have also made their place in the last 32.
