Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan was out of Asia Cup due to these mistakes, captain Babar Azam counted them one by one

Babar Azam’s Reaction: Both the finalists of Asia Cup 2023 have been decided. In the match played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Thursday (14 September), defending champion Sri Lanka won by 2 wickets under Duckworth-Lewis rule and paved the way for the final. Team captain Babar Azam appeared very unhappy with Pakistan’s exit from the tournament. After the match, Babar counted the mistakes due to which Pakistan had to face defeat against Sri Lanka.

After the defeat against Sri Lanka, Babar Azam told how Pakistan had to lose the match due to the team’s poor bowling. Babar said after the match, “We decided in the end that we will get our best bowler to bowl. So I got Shaheen to bowl the second last over and then we trusted Zaman Khan for the last over. Sri Lanka played well, they played better cricket than us, that’s why we lost.”

Further, Babar told how Pakistan had to lose the match against Sri Lanka due to poor bowling. He said, “In the middle overs, we are not bowling well. That partnership (between Mendis and Samaravikram) hurt us. We are starting well, we are finishing well, but we are not taking wickets in the middle overs.”

Sri Lanka won by 2 wickets

Due to the disruption caused by rain, the match was played in 42-42 overs. After winning the toss, Pakistan came to bat first and scored 252 runs for 7 wickets after playing the entire over. Mohammad Rizwan played the biggest innings of 86 runs for the team. In reply, Sri Lankan team won the match by completing the target on the last ball after losing 8 wickets.
