The first Som Pradosh fast of Vaishakh month of April is being observed on 17th April this year. On this day being Monday, this fast will be called Som Pradosh Vrat and on this day, Trayodashi Tithi is starting from 3:46 in the afternoon, which is the next day i.e. 18th April, Tuesday, at 1:27 in the afternoon. Will remain till Accordingly, on the concept of Udayatithi, Som Pradosh Vrat will be observed on Monday, 17th April. Since there is a law for worshiping Mahadev in Som Pradosh only in the evening, therefore keeping in view the auspicious time of evening, the time of worship will start at 6:48 (6:48) in the evening of April 17. The auspicious time of worship of Mahadev Shiva will be effective till 09:01 (09:01) minutes. During this anointing of Mahadev with Ganges water and other holy waters is considered very auspicious.

This time the shadow of Panchak is going to remain on Som Pradosh Vrat. The period of Panchak starts from 6.44 pm on the evening of 15th April, which will end on 19th April at 11.53 pm. Although it is said that the Panchak period is inauspicious for auspicious work, but the Panchak period is not valid for the worship of Shiva and Mahadev can be worshiped during this period.
