Second round of caste census in Bihar from today, CM Nitish Kumar also answered these questions

The second round of caste census in Bihar is starting from today. To begin with, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also went to his home in Bakhtiyarpur, where he himself registered all the figures as a local resident. The work of the second phase of enumeration will continue till May 15, during which the complete details of the people of two crore 88 lakh identified families will be collected by the three and a half lakh people involved in the survey. During this, people will be asked a total of 18 questions including name, gender, age, education.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced to place the report of caste enumeration and socio-economic survey in both houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

Nitish Kumar informed the census officer about his family members in Bakhtiyarpur and got the data recorded.

Castes in Bihar will now be identified on the basis of codes in the form of numbers. Each caste has been assigned a numerical code for use during the month-long second phase of the caste-based enumeration from April 15 to May 15. The exercise of enumeration, which began on January 7, will be completed by May 2023. The state government will spend Rs 500 crore from its contingency fund for this exercise. The responsibility of this survey has been assigned to the General Administration Department.
