Dev Diwali will be celebrated. After mutual discussion, all the scholars have decided that this date is correct. Apart from this, whatever date is being mentioned is not correct.
Why is Dev Diwali celebrated
According to Hindu religious scriptures, Lord Shankar had killed Tripurasura, after which the temples and ghats of Kashi were decorated as a celebration by the gods and from then till today, Diwali is celebrated grandly in Varanasi after the scheduled time of Diwali. Dev Diwali is celebrated with pomp and show on the first full moon date of 2017. The importance of this festival is also increasing every year. Lakhs of tourists from far and wide come to Varanasi to see this historical moment.
