Nepal Politics: Months have passed since the government headed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda was formed in Nepal, but the post of Foreign Minister remained vacant here. It is reported that now Narayan Prasad Saud will be the new foreign minister of Nepal.
Narayan Prasad Saud has been a member of the Central Committee of the Nepali Congress and in 2014 he has also been the Irrigation Minister in Sushil Koirala’s government. At the same time, for the last one and a half months, he was handling the foreign affairs of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s government. Now Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has made preparations to make him the Foreign Minister of Nepal.
According to ‘The Kathmandu Post’, due to disputes in the ruling party, the names of many cabinet ministers have not yet been approved. However, since the appointment of the Foreign Minister was necessary, the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba agreed to Narayan Prasad’s name to be appointed by Prachanda.
Deuba and Prachanda talked and the way was cleared!
There are reports that a meeting took place on April 16 between Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, in which it was agreed to appoint Narayan Prasad as the new foreign minister. On March 31, only 4 leaders from Sher Bahadur Deuba’s party-Nepali Congress were appointed ministers in the cabinet.
There has been infighting here for months
It may be noted that ever since the new government has been formed, there has been political discord in Nepal. Because, no party has majority and the present government is in power with the help of many other parties.
