Last year, due to targeted killing, Kashmiri Pandits had kept distance from this fair, but this time thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are going from Jammu to Srinagar to attend the fair. Devotees singing and singing praises of Mata have left Jammu on Sunday (May 28) to attend the Mata Kheer Bhawani fair in the Kashmir Valley.

G-20 returns confidence 

There is a temple of Mata Kheer Bhavani in Ganderbal district of Kashmir, who is also the favorite goddess of Kashmiri Pandits. There is a lot of enthusiasm among Kashmiri Pandits regarding this fair, but due to target killing in the Kashmir Valley last year, there was fear among Kashmiri Pandits, due to which the organizations kept distance from this fair. 

Due to fear following attacks on Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, a small number of devotees had reached Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple Srinagar last year, but this year confidence has returned among Kashmiri Pandits after the success of the recently concluded G-20 summit in the Kashmir Valley. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu turned to the Kashmir Valley on Friday (May 26). All of them were sent from Jammu to Srinagar under tight security. According to Jammu Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Kashmiri Pandits are going to the fair of their favorite goddess in the midst of continuous development in the Kashmir Valley and peace returning there. He said that the way Kashmiri Pandits are showing enthusiasm about this fair this time, it is clear that Kashmir is on the path of development and peace.
