According to the report of the Malaysian government, the turboprop of the aircraft was not installed correctly, due to which the pilot lost control and this horrific accident happened. The plane was going to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah state, when the accident happened. The plane crash killed the then Chief Minister of Sabah State, Tun Fuad Stephens, and the state’s Housing Minister, Finance Minister and Communications Minister.
The accident happened after losing control

According to the report, more goods were loaded in the plane than required. The baggage of another aircraft was also loaded in this aircraft.
