Monsoon Places Where We Should Not Visit: Heavy rains created havoc in many states of India. Due to rains in Delhi NCR, Gurgaon, Mumbai, UP, life has become busy in many places. States like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are also areas of extreme rainfall and some parts of these states are prone to heavy rains and landslides. In such a situation, if you are planning to go here in monsoon, then you should not visit these places even by mistake.

 

If you are traveling to Uttarakhand during monsoon, then avoid visiting places like Nainital, Mussoorie, Chamba, because it rains a lot during monsoon season. This season runs from the month of June to September. Due to hilly area and river, lake, it rains heavily here and river, drain and lake come in spate.

 

Due to its geographical location, there are some places in Himachal Pradesh, where it rains heavily during monsoon and flood-like conditions are created here. Especially Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie are such places where there is heavy rain during the monsoon season. Pir Panjal range in West Himalaya and Himachal Pradesh is also closed many times due to rain. You should not visit these places from June to August or September and even if you do, you should make a plan to visit here after making special arrangements.
