"will reach you soon": Voice of hope and hope for the workers trapped in the tunnel for 10 days

Hours after sending khichdi through a six-inch pipeline to 41 laborers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel for the past several days, rescue workers today sent a camera to them and released the first video of their recovery. In the video, all the workers are seen in their safety helmets. 41 laborers trapped in the Uttarakhand tunnel after the exit route was closed due to landslides were seen this morning for the first time in 10 days.

Rescue team raised hopes of workers

At around 3.45 am today, when the faces of the workers came on camera, there was excitement among the rescue teams. However, the atmosphere soon turns serious as the rescue team has to carry out a difficult mission. He assured that he would soon reach the stranded laborers and also gave several instructions. During this, the workers were asked, “Are you okay? If you all are okay, please show yourself in front of the camera. Please raise your hands and smile.”

Necessary help is being sent through pipes in the tunnel

A rescuer said, “We will reach you soon, please don’t worry, please come in front of the camera one by one. We want to show your relatives that you are okay.” Then the workers were asked to take cameras from inside the pipes and focus on each of them. A rescuer said, and asked if you had received the walkie-talkie sent through the pipe. When the workers confirmed this, the rescue workers instructed them to operate the walkie-talkie. The six-inch pipe inserted amid the debris is a lifeline, through which food and medicines can be sent to the workers.

In this morning’s footage, rescue workers can also be heard discussing plans to send food to the stranded workers. According to a report by news agency ANI, khichdi and porridge are also among the items being prepared to be sent through the six-inch pipe. Khichdi was sent to the workers immediately after the pipe was installed on Monday. 41 workers are trapped after a landslide in the under-construction tunnel on November 12. This tunnel is part of the Centre’s ambitious Char Dham projects, located between Silkyara and Dandalgaon in Uttarakhand. This tunnel is on the proposed road to connect Uttarkashi and Yamunotri.
