Two people, including an eight-month-old baby, have died after a building collapsed in Maharashtra’s Thane district. Many people have also been injured in the incident. Yasin Tadvi, head of the disaster management cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, said that a one-storey building with six flats located on Durga Road in Dhobi Talav area of ​​Bhiwandi city collapsed at 12.35 am. After getting information about the incident, a team of Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) and fire brigade personnel of Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation reached the spot. And the work of relief and rescue was started.

A search operation was carried out in the night and seven people were pulled out from the debris. An eight-month-old girl and a woman were killed while five others were injured, the official said.

He told that the deceased have been identified as Uzma Atif Momin (40) and Taslima Mosar Momin (8 months). According to the police, four women and one man were among those injured in the incident. All the injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital. The work of removing debris from the spot has started.
