The court has sentenced the person guilty of raping a minor girl to 20 years imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on him. In August 2019, accused Gaurav had committed the rape of a 16-year-old minor girl. The accused was a resident of Hathras in Uttar Pradesh and lived in the neighborhood of the victim at the time of the incident. In this case, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Hemraj Mittal sentenced.
Police spokesperson Sube Singh said that on August 26, 2019, the victim girl had given her complaint at Saran police station. She told that she is a student of class VI. Accused Gaurav lives in his neighbourhood. On the afternoon of August 25, she went to her terrace, where the accused Gaurav took her to his room by holding her hand and forcibly raped her there.
According to the police, the girl told that when she protested, the accused threatened to kill her and fed a bullet to the girl. After eating this, the girl fainted and when she regained consciousness, she found herself locked in a room. There was a lock outside the room, which the girl somehow got herself out of there by making a sound.
In this case, on the basis of the complaint of the victim girl, a case was registered against the accused under POCSO Act, SCST Act and other sections. The investigation of the case was handed over to ACP Sukhbir Singh. Taking quick action, the police arrested the accused on the same day and produced him in the court and sent him to jail.
In this case, the police team presented the charge sheet in the court in October 2019.
