The Supreme Court has got two new judges. Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan and Justice S Venkatanarayan Bhatti have been appointed as judges in the Supreme Court. His appointment has been approved by President Draupadi Murmu. On July 5, the collegium recommended the appointment of two judges as Supreme Court judges.
Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan and Kerala High Court Chief Justice S. Venkatanarayan Bhatti were recommended for appointment as Supreme Court judges. This decision was taken by the Collegium of Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments of Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan and Justice S Venkatanarayan Bhatti on Twitter. With these two appointments, the Supreme Court has a total of 32 judges, while the strength is 34.
