Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Indonesia just before the G-20 Summit. PM Modi will leave on September 6 on a two-day visit to Indonesia. The Prime Minister is visiting Jakarta at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo. During his visit, PM Modi will participate in the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and the 18th East Asia Summit hosted by Indonesia. At present, Indonesia is chairing the ASEAN.
The ASEAN-India Summit is the first summit in 2022 after upgrading India-ASEAN relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The progress of India-ASEAN relations will be reviewed during this summit. Along with this, future direction will be decided regarding cooperation.
The East Asia Summit will provide an opportunity for leaders of ASEAN countries and its eight partners including India to exchange views on issues of regional and global importance.
Let us tell you that the preparations for the G-20 summit in India are in the final stages. India is currently presiding over the G-20. In such a situation, the G-20 summit is to be organized in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September. It will include top leaders of various countries including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
