Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gifted nine new Vande Bharat Trains to the country today i.e. on Sunday. The Prime Minister has flagged off these trains through video conferencing. These include two trains from South Central Railway (SCR), two from West Bengal, as well as one train each from Odisha, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also participated in the inauguration program. This is a step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of improving connectivity across the country and providing world-class facilities to rail passengers.

According to the official statement, these states include Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat. The new Vande Bharat train will run between Udaipur-Jaipur, Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Vijayawada-Chennai, Patna-Howrah, Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri, Ranchi-Howrah and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad. Vande Bharat train will be the fastest train on its operating routes and will save a lot of time for passengers.

Vande Bharat train will run at high speed on these routes

According to officials, the Kachiguda-Yesvantpur train service between Bengaluru and Hyderabad will be the fastest train between the two cities with the shortest travel time. Similarly, the train on Vijayawada -MGR Chennai Central route will be the first and fastest train on this route. Meanwhile, there will be 25 additional facilities on the Patna-Howrah and Ranchi-Howrah routes, with the train covering the distance of 535 km in approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Reduction in travel time between Hyderabad-Bangalore by more than two and a half hours

According to this, compared to the current fastest train on the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri and Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram routes, Vande Bharat train will reduce the travel time between the respective destinations by about three hours. Similarly, there will be a reduction of more than two and a half hours on the Hyderabad-Bangalore route while the travel time on the Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai route will be reduced by more than two hours. The travel time between Ranchi-Howrah, Patna-Howrah and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad via Vande Bharat train will be reduced by about one hour as compared to the fastest train currently available between these destinations. Similarly, the travel time between Vande Bharat to Udaipur-Jaipur will be reduced by about half an hour.
