One day Sharad Pawar will support PM’s vision of making India ‘self-reliant’: BJP leader Chandrashekhar Bawankule

Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday expressed confidence that NCP founder Sharad Pawar would one day support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India strong and self-reliant. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bawankule was talking to reporters at Nagpur airport in response to a question on the recent meeting between Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar had last month joined the Eknath Shinde-led government along with eight MLAs from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The ‘secret’ meeting between Sharad and Ajit Pawar in Pune last week had created a stir in political circles. Sharad Pawar is still part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance that includes the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Congress. Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress had raised concerns over the meeting between the two leaders. When asked about this, Bawankule said, “Sharad Pawar himself has clarified that it was a family meeting”. He said, “I think Sharad Pawar will support Modi ji’s vision and dream of making India strong and ‘Atmanirbhar’ one day.”
