JKSSB gave contract to blacklisted agency to conduct exam, said this on dispute

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has defended its controversial decision to hire a private agency, which was earlier blacklisted, to conduct the recruitment exam. Protests have been going on for the past several days regarding this matter. Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) chairman Rajesh Sharma has also justified the change in tender conditions for awarding the contract to Aptech Limited. Aptech has been blacklisted by many states. Along with this, the Delhi High Court has also punished it.

He said, “The company was blacklisted for three years in the year 2019. It has not been blacklisted now. The blacklisting period ended in 2022. Legally we have no reason not to hire the agency.” Was.” According to Rajesh Sharma, ‘The terms of award of contract were changed, as the blacklisting was for some period and not permanent.’

At the same time, the candidates said that the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board has not learned anything from the irregularities in the past. Blacklisted company has been given the responsibility of conducting the exam, which was involved in malpractice in more than 10 recruitment exams conducted in different states.

Earlier on Wednesday, candidates gathered outside the Press Club in Jammu city to protest. During this, the police stopped the protesters from blocking the road. The protesters are protesting against the alleged award of contract to APTECH Limited for conducting various examinations.

The protesters demanded that the LG administration should investigate why paper leaks and scams happen only in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the future of the youth is being played with in the state.

A division bench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court today sent back the request made to a single judge bench to decide the matter afresh. In December, the court had made strong remarks on the Jammu and Kashmir administration for awarding the contract for the examination to a tainted agency. The court said that the decision to award the contract to Aptech Limited and the change in the condition of the tender was aimed at benefiting the private firm.
