Ashish Singha, a resident of Kotgarh in Shimla, was supposed to take a marriage procession to Shivani Thakur, a resident of Bhuntar in Kullu, but when it became impossible due to bad weather and road closure, the family arranged the marriage through video conference. Thought of getting it done. It rained for three consecutive days in Himachal Pradesh since Saturday, causing flash floods and landslides that damaged houses and killed at least 31 people.
Ashish Singha had to go to Bhuntar on Monday with a procession. Rakesh Singha, former MLA from Theog assembly constituency, told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ on Tuesday that Kullu district was the epicenter of the recent tragedy. So the family members decided to conduct the marriage online. He said that the government had advised people not to travel, so the marriage took place through video conference.
