A case was registered against a police sub-inspector and his team on Tuesday after the family of a man killed in a police encounter alleged murder. The officers provided this information. A panchayat was held in Pakhal village on Monday demanding registration of a murder case against policemen in connection with the encounter that took place three days ago in Faridabad and a Union Minister and a senior Congress leader were met in this matter. . After these incidents, action has been taken against the policemen.
Faridabad Police spokesperson said that an FIR has been registered against Sector 48 Crime Branch Chief Sub Inspector Rakesh Kumar and his team at Dhauj police station under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. According to the police, Balraj alias Balwinder alias Ballu, resident of Pawta Mahabatabad village, was a wanted criminal by the police in several cases of robbery. He was killed in a brief police encounter on Saturday, while his two associates were arrested after the incident.
On Monday morning, villagers of Mahabatabad village held a panchayat in nearby Pakhal village and demanded registration of a case of murder against the policemen. A 35-member committee was formed in the Panchayat and senior Congress leader Vijay Pratap Singh spoke to Police Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Arya on phone and demanded to register a case of murder against the policemen. After this, late on Monday evening the villagers met Union Minister of State Krishnapal Gurjar at his residence in Delhi who assured that there would be no injustice. A judicial inquiry has been ordered by Judicial Magistrate Naurang Sharma, but the family demanded an FIR to be filed before the post-mortem. The FIR was registered on Tuesday.
According to the police, the Crime Branch of Sector 48 had received information late on Saturday night that Balraj and his two associates were going to commit a crime. He told that a crime branch team chased the three occupants of the car and asked them to stop. “When he asked the trio to stop, they started firing at the crime branch team and one bullet hit the police vehicle,” he said. In retaliatory firing by the police, Balraj was shot and his associates were caught.
A senior police officer said, “Balraj was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.” After the incident, Balraj’s family members and people of the village started gathering at Badshah Khan Hospital, accusing him of murder. . Balraj was wanted in four cases of robbery and snatching. His accomplices have been identified as Anoop alias Chaliya, resident of Dabua Colony and Arvind, resident of Rajeev Colony, Faridabad. Anoop alias Chalia was in jail on charges of murder of one Naresh Bhakri and he had recently come out of jail on bail.
