An Indian-origin man who stabbed a 37-year-old man outside a Vancouver Starbucks cafe in Canada has been charged with second-degree murder. This information has been given by Global News quoting the local police. The suspect, Inderdeep Singh Gosal, 32, has been arrested on the spot.
According to police, 37-year-old Paul Stanley Schmidt was stabbed to death outside the cafe at the corner of Granville and West Pender Streets on Sunday around 5:40 p.m. After the incident, he was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last.
Vancouver Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Addison said police are appealing for more witnesses and video to help them determine a motive for the murder. He said that the police investigation is still going on to understand the matter completely.
Giving more details about the incident, Alex Bajor, an eyewitness to the incident, said that it was very painful to see and hear, according to a Global News report. Bodger said that after the stabbing, the suspect went back into the Starbucks store and only heard people shouting.
Police believe the two men did not know each other, and Addison said the circumstances of the stabbing are under investigation. According to Global News, he said that a video of the incident is circulating on social media, and appealed to the public not to share it further.
