Opposition Unity: Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front on Friday (July 21) announced support to the newly formed Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), a coalition of opposition parties.
AIUDF MLA and party general secretary Aminul Islam said that his party is against the BJP-led NDA and will support the opposition party’s new alliance India.
‘We were with UPA earlier also’
Aminul Islam said, now UPA’s new name is India, so our party will now support India. He said that we never supported BJP-led NDA, we were with UPA earlier also, now UPA is India, so we will support India.
On 18 July 2023, the 26-party opposition alliance was named the India National Developmental Inclusive Alliance or INDIA during the second joint opposition meeting held in Bengaluru, Karnataka on 18 July 2023. It is believed that the next Lok Sabha elections will be fought under the banner of this alliance.
When will be the next meeting regarding opposition unity?
If reliable sources are to be believed, the next meeting regarding opposition unity may be held in Mumbai after August 15. The 11-member coordination committee is likely to be finalized in the Mumbai meeting. Earlier, meetings of opposition parties were held in Patna and Bengaluru.
The leaders of the alliance are also planning to form four-five other committees. This proposed meeting will also be important because in this ‘India’ Seat-sharing, election preparations and campaign management are likely to be discussed among the 26 parties involved.
Sources told that Lok Sabha elections. However, the problems facing the alliance are no less. There is a possibility of a clash in the alliance over seat-sharing in Kerala, Punjab and West Bengal.
