Weather Forecast India: After rains in many states across the country, the weather has become pleasant. Its effect was seen today (March 19) in the morning as well. The process of wind blowing with mild cold is still going on. There is a possibility of rain in many areas of North India including Delhi-NCR even today. The Meteorological Department has called it unseasonal rains caused by Western Disturbance. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for most of the states in North India and an orange alert for the northeastern parts. 

The Meteorological Department has estimated that till March 20, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in many parts of the country. In many areas, this rain has also become a problem. In Rajkot, Gujarat, a child trapped in water was pulled out with the help of a tractor. At the same time, due to hailstorm in Gwalior, there has been a lot of damage to the crops. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took stock of the area and termed it as a loss due to climate change. The crops of a dozen villages were destroyed here. 

Farmers loss due to unseasonal rains 

There was heavy damage due to rain and hailstorm at many places in Maharashtra including Mumbai. Hail accompanied with rain in Gurugram, heavy rains occurred in many areas of Haryana. Wheat crop has been damaged due to unseasonal rains in Bulandshahr, UP. The weather is wreaking havoc even in MP’s Mandsaur. Here the standing crop got destroyed due to hailstorm. Wheat, gram and opium crops have been damaged. In UP’s Lalitpur too, farmers have suffered huge losses due to rain. The roof of a house collapsed due to rain in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. A person sitting inside the house was injured in the accident.

Chances of rain in these states 

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), hailstorm is expected with rain in northwest and eastern India. Till March 20, it is expected to rain with lightning and strong winds in the western Himalayan region and in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain with lightning and gusty winds very likely over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on March 19.
