Uproar by Khalistan supporters in Indian High Commission premises in London, India summons British diplomat

Indian High Commission Britain Protest: There has been an uproar in Britain after the action of the Punjab Police on the heir Punjab de Chief and Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. On Sunday (March 19), Khalistan supporters created a ruckus in the premises of the Indian High Commission in London.

India has reacted sharply to this incident and summoned the Deputy Chief of the British High Commission in Delhi. High Commissioner Alex Ellis is currently out of Delhi.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a strong statement that India has found the UK government’s indifference to the security of Indian diplomatic premises and personnel in the UK, which is unacceptable.

India lodges strong protest

The ministry said, ‘‘An explanation was sought from the UK for the absence of security arrangements that allowed these elements to enter the High Commission premises.’’ 

The Foreign Office said, ‘‘It is expected that the UK Government will take immediate steps to identify, arrest and prosecute everyone involved in today’s incident and will take strong measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.’’ ;.

Police action on Amritpal Singh

Amritpal Singh has been booked in Ajnala police station for assault, hate speech and possession of illegal weapons.
