TMC MP Mahua Moitra: ‘…this attack on democracy, no opposition leader is being allowed to speak in Parliament’, MP Mahua Moitra made serious allegations

Parliament Proceeding: Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra on Thursday (March 16) lashed out at Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Moitra accused Birla of not allowing any MP from the opposition to speak in Parliament. He alleged that democracy is under attack in the present government. 

Tweeting on Wednesday (March 15), Moitra wrote, "In the last 3 days, Speaker Om Birla allowed only BJP ministers to speak on the mike and then adjourned the Parliament. He did not allow a single opposition MP to speak. Democracy is under attack and the speaker leads from the front. I am ready to go to jail for this tweet."

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary had made the allegations
Actually, Mahua Moitra’s tweet came after a letter written by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, to Om Birla, in which Adhir Ranjan wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker But similar allegations have been made on the proceedings of the Parliament for the last three days.

BJP demands an apology from Rahul Gandhi
Let us tell you that the BJP government continued to surround the Congress in Parliament on Wednesday. The BJP demanded an apology from Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks in London. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, in his letter to the Speaker, complained that his microphone had been muted for the last three days.

‘I am writing a letter with pain’
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said that he is writing a letter with a heavy heart and pain regarding the government-sponsored disruption in the House. He said,  "I am very disappointed to see that ever since the House resumed on March 13, 2023 after its prorogation, government sponsored disruptions are being created in the House." he adds, "It seems to me that there is a well-planned conspiracy on the part of the party in power to tarnish the image of a member of the opposition party (Rahul Gandhi)."
