Vikas Madan Walker, examined as a prosecution witness by the public prosecutor before Additional Sessions Judge Manisha Khurana Kakkar, deposed that he had gone to the Mehrauli police station on November 11, 2022, where he was asked by police officials whether he wanted to visit Poonawalla. recognize.
Vikas Walker told, ‘‘I replied in the affirmative and said that this is Poonawala, who is living with my daughter for the last three years. I also told the police that he quarreled with my daughter several times and beat her up.
He said at the police station, he saw officials questioning Poonawalla about the transfer of funds from Shraddha’s account on May 20 (two days after the murder). He said that Poonawala was surprised and said that no such thing had happened.

Vikas Walker said, ‘‘When I asked Poonawala where my daughter was, he said she was no more….’’ He said, ‘I was in shock and I started feeling dizzy. After some time when I regained consciousness, Poonawalla started revealing how he killed my daughter.’’
He told me, ‘‘He had a fight with my daughter on May 18, 2022 at his Chhatarpur residence and he told me that he had strangled Shraddha with his own hands.’’
The victim’s father told that Poonawalla also told him that after killing Shraddha, he bought a ‘saw’, two spare blades and a hammer etc. from a hardware store. He slit both her wrists and put them in a polythene or garbage bag.
Vikas also told about meeting Poonawalla for the first time after his wife’s death in January 2020, when Shraddha brought the accused to her father’s house in Mumbai.
The interrogation of the victim’s father will continue
When the family opposed Shraddha’s decision to be in a live-in relationship with Poonawalla in 2019, the victim said, being a 25-year-old woman, she is capable of taking her own decisions and her father can accept that now Since she will not be his daughter. The questioning of the victim’s father will continue on August 5 as well.
