Republic Day 2023: Advisory of Delhi Police, ban on flying drones in the sky till 15 February

Republic Day 2023 : On the occasion of Republic Day, aerial equipment like drones, para-gliders, para-motors have been banned in Delhi for security reasons. This ban will be applicable from 18 January to 15 February. During this, Section 144 will remain in force in the National Capital Region. Legal action will be taken against those who violate this order under section 144.

The order issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora states that para gliders, para motors, UAVs, UAS, microlight aircraft, remote operated aircraft, hot air balloons, small size aircraft will be used to thwart terror designs. Para jumping etc. has been banned from the operated aircraft and aircraft. The information of this order has also been sent to DCP, Additional DCP, ACP, Tehsil, MCD, NDMC, DDA, PWD, and Delhi Cantt Board of all districts.

Those who violate the warning will be punished

This order will be effective from January 18 and will remain in force for a period of 29 days. Till February 15 (both days inclusive), this restriction will remain in force.

Delhi Police Commissioner further said, "It has been pointed out that some criminal or anti-social elements or terrorists hostile to India may pose a threat to the security of general public, dignitaries and important establishments by use of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, para-gliders."

The Delhi Police Commissioner invoked his powers under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code for the ban and warned that anyone violating it would be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

Checking and patrolling also started on January 26

The ban will come into effect from January 18, and will remain in force for a period of 29 days i.e. till February 15 (both days inclusive), unless revoked earlier. Meanwhile, North Delhi DCP Sagar Singh Kalsi told that checking and patrolling have been started on January 26.

On Monday, the Delhi Police went to hotels, guest houses and cinema halls to investigate. People have been questioned and security has been strengthened in the markets as well.
