CJI Chandrachud On Pandemic: Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Y Chandrachud said that the judiciary should not wait for another pandemic like Corona. We should keep on developing even without the pandemic and take more advanced decisions like using virtual hearings. Covid-19 has prompted courts in India to adopt technology and modern equipment.
The Chief Justice said that our goal should be to develop our judicial institutions as a principle. One should not wait for another pandemic to take a modern and proactive decision. The CJI was addressing the 18th meeting of Chief Justices of Supreme Courts of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
