He was such a revolutionary who, at the age of just 23, got hanged laughing and sacrificed his life for the country. Today is the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh.

The country’s great revolutionary Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in Banga village in Punjab, Pakistan. His father’s name was Kishan Singh and mother’s name was Vidyavati. Since childhood, he had seen such an environment at home, due to which a feeling of patriotism arose in him. Bhagat Singh had seen the British oppressing Indians from the very beginning.

Loved the country’s independence

Bhagat Singh loved his country so much that once when his marriage was discussed in the house, he had said that if I get married during the British rule, my bride will be only death. There is also a famous story about Shaheed Bhagat Singh that when he was in jail, when his mother came to meet him, he was laughing loudly. He used to say that these British may kill me, but they will never be able to kill my thoughts. They may kill me, but they will not be able to kill my soul.

Tales of Bhagat Singh

Apart from this, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre gave a big shock to Bhagat Singh. After this he left his studies. He was in his school on the day of the incident. After coming out of school, he went straight to the place where the massacre took place. From there he filled the soil stained with the blood of martyred Indians in a bottle and brought it home. He used to worship it every day.
