During police interrogation, the accused told that he and his live-in partner Pratima Pawal Kispatta were together for the last two years and were living in Dharavi area for about a month. The woman used to work as housekeeping and she had left this job a few days ago. Accused Askar Manoj Barla had doubts about the character of the woman and felt that while she was doing housekeeping work, her new lover was also working there.

He had also reached Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus with him, but he was scared after seeing the police presence at the station. He kept the suitcase in the auto and left it at a metro construction site.

Police said that both the accused and the deceased woman belonged to the Christian community and had met each other in the church. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 302, 201 of IPC and started investigation.
