Abhishek Banerjee Scam Allegation: BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Legislative Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari has responded to Mamata’s allegations that her nephew could be arrested. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has said that corrupt people must go to jail.
He said, "The corrupt person must go to jail, this is our demand. His (Abhishek Banerjee) name is involved in coal scam, cow smuggling and recruitment scam. He will have to go behind the bars of the jail. We want to ask the agency (ED) why it is taking so long?"
What did Mamata Banerjee say?
Actually on Monday (August 28) the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee had expressed apprehension about the arrest of her nephew. According to Hindustan Times, on Monday Mamta Banerjee told that she has received a message in which it is known that Trinamool Congress general secretary and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee can be arrested.

Chief Minister in his address during the foundation day of Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad in Kolkata on Monday Mamta Banerjee said she received a message from someone, claiming that Abhishek Banerjee might be arrested soon. Mamata said in the address that some additional files have been fed into the computer during the ED raid.
Abhishek Banerjee said at the foundation day rally of Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad, "When I returned (from America), an ED official was sent to my office. But if after seven days CBI goes to the same place and finds the files, it means she wants to defame."
Abhishek Banerjee further said, " If there is even a little evidence against me, then no ED or CBI will be needed. I will voluntarily walk and hang myself on the gallows. Does anyone else in this country have the courage to say this?"
