Sameer Bhujbal Elected New NCP Mumbai President: After the breakup of the Nationalist Congress Party, the tussle continues between the Sharad faction and the Ajit Pawar faction regarding the command of the party. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar faction has elected Sameer Bhujbal, nephew of veteran leader Chhagan Bhujbal, as NCP President of Mumbai. He has been an MP from Nashik, Maharashtra. Former MP has also been arrested in money laundering case.

Earlier, NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) state president Sunil Tatkare had told ABP Majha, "We are holding a meeting and will announce the new Mumbai president soon. We will give new responsibility to Sameer Bhujbal."

Experience of organizational building
He believes that Sameer Bhujbal has experience of organizational building. Apart from this, Chhagan Bhujbal is in-charge of Mumbai area, hence he will not have any problem in taking decisions related to the organization in Mumbai. Sameer Bhujbal also has the ability to break the factionalism in Mumbai NCP.

There was no discussion on the name of Shivajirao Nalawade
It is noteworthy that the names of Shivajirao Nalawade and former MP Sameer Bhujbal were discussed for this post, but the name of Shivajirao Nalawade was strongly opposed. , after which it was believed that this post would be given to Sameer Bhujbal only.  

Nawab Malik had the post
Nawab Malik was appointed Mumbai President of NCP on 5 August 2019 after Sachin Ahir left NCP in 2019 and joined Shiv Sena. He went to Nawab Malik jail after his arrest in a money laundering case in February 2022. Meanwhile the party broke up.
