Lok Sabha Election: Referring to Mamta Banerjee and Nitish Kumar, Akhilesh Yadav said – working for the opposition front, gave this advice to Congress

Akhilesh Yadav On Third Front: Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has expressed confidence in taking the shape of the opposition alliance for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024. He has said that regional parties will play an important role in this fight against BJP. At the same time, on the role of Congress in this proposed opposition front, Akhilesh said that it is for the oldest party to decide.

In an interview given to the news agency PTI, he said, “Efforts are on to form an opposition alliance or front. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao (on his own) is trying. I am sure that in the coming days a shape of opposition alliance will emerge, which will fight against BJP.”

‘Important role of regional parties’

He further said, “Congress is almost non-existent compared to BJP in many states but regional parties are fighting with all their might against the saffron camp and I hope they will be successful.” During the interview, he was asked that regional parties like JDU, RJD and DMK want to include Congress in the opposition alliance, in response to which Akhilesh said that he is already in alliance with them. He said, “It is a question of big fight and the Congress itself will decide its role in it.”

Akhilesh on elections in Amethi and Rae Bareli

When asked whether his party would contest the Rae Bareilly and Amethi Lok Sabha seats in UP, which have Congress influence, he alleged that SP workers were being killed in Amethi. He said, “Our workers are being killed in Amethi. Party workers are asking who will fight for them. They are SP workers who are supporting each other. Congress workers are not even coming in our support.”

‘BJP must win UP to come to power’
