Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a closed-door meeting with the leaders of the BJP’s Odisha unit on Saturday (August 5). Shah urged them to “expose corruption and irregularities” of the Naveen Patnaik government in the state. A BJP functionary gave this information.
A few hours before this, Shah had praised Patnaik for becoming the Chief Minister of the state for five consecutive terms. Interestingly, a few days before Shah’s appeal to BJP leaders, Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) had announced its support for the Delhi Services Ordinance in Parliament. He had said that he would oppose the no-confidence motion against the NDA government at the Centre.
What advice did Amit Shah give?
Odisha state BJP President Manmohan Samal told reporters here that the home minister asked the state party leaders to strengthen the organization at the booth level and work in the state government. Urged to ‘expose corruption and irregularities’. He said Shah also advised the party leaders to raise local issues and stay connected with them to solve the problems of the people.

After attending official events with Patnaik at Lok Seva Bhavan in Odisha, Shah reached BJP state headquarters where he had lunch with party leaders.
