Jalna Maratha Protest: A protest is being held in Jalna, Maharashtra regarding Maratha reservation. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT President Uddhav Thackeray appealed to PM Modi regarding Maratha reservation. He demanded the PM to give reservation to Marathas during the special session to be called on 18 September.
Uddhav Thackeray said in Sarti Antarwali village, ‘I am the PM Narendra Modi to give Maratha reservation in the special session of Parliament. He also fiercely attacked the Shinde government of Maharashtra for lathi-charging the agitating people. Said that there were agitations when his government was in power, but no one was lathi-charged then.
Shinde government gheraoed for lathi charge
Politics has heated up after the lathicharge on the protesters by the police. Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met the people protesting in Sarti Antarwali village. There he said, ‘There were agitations in our time, but there was no lathicharge. We tried to get justice when we were in power. Our ministers talked to the agitating people every time. You keep on agitating, but take care of your health as well. Today you are being lathi-charged, is this a democracy?’ Uddhav Thackeray, while withdrawing all the cases against the protesters, also demanded an inquiry.
Ashok Chavan and Pawar met the protesters
Congress leader Ashok Chavan also met the people protesting in Sarti Antarwali village. He demanded the central government to change this law in a special session of Parliament and give Maratha reservation. He said, ‘The central government is promoting one nation one election, but what about Maratha reservation.’
NCP chief Sharad Pawar also met the protesters in Jalna. He sought CM Shinde’s intervention in this matter to find a way out. Let us inform that during the Maratha agitation in Jalna last Friday, there was a clash between the protesters and the police. After which the police lathicharged.
