Urban Extension Road: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the Urban Extension Road being built in the capital Delhi on Thursday (March 16). After the construction of this road, there will be relief from both traffic and pollution in Delhi. Along with this, traffic coming from Haryana, Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir will bypass Delhi.
This road will connect West Delhi, South Delhi, IGI Airport, Gurgaon. That is, overall, after its construction, the people of Delhi will have convenience in transportation. The special thing is that after the construction of this road, the distance from Delhi to Chandigarh can be covered in just two and a half hours. Apart from this, the road will be prepared from 20 lakh tonnes of waste from Delhi’s Ghazipur.
What did Nitin Gadkari say?
Nitin Gadkari said that to get rid of the problem of traffic jam and pollution in Delhi, the central government is working on many levels, one of which is the Urban Extension Road. It started in November 2021 and now it is going to be completed in October this year. This project is worth 7716 crores, which will improve the connectivity of West Delhi, South Delhi, Gurugram, IGI Airport, Dhaula Kuan, Mukarba Chowk, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir. There are a total of 27 bridges, 27 flyovers and 11 underpasses on this road.

Road Inspection
Central Nitin Gadkari arrived to inspect UER-2. During this with him MP Sahib Pravesh Singh Verma, Hansraj Hans and many MLAs were present. Gadkari boarded the bus to inspect the road under construction and also inquired about the work progress from the officials present. Gadkari has already inspected many roads by bus, which shows the actual condition of road construction.
