CWC Meeting In Telangana: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting was held in Hyderabad, Telangana on Saturday (16 September). Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said that Bharat Jodo Yatra was discussed in the meeting. 

Former Union Minister P. Chidambaram said,  “The members of the Congress Working Committee applied that we should start Bharat Jodo Yatra-2, which would be from East to West. Actually, Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari on 7 September 2022 under the leadership of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. 

What was discussed in the meeting?
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in the CWC meeting that the incidents of violence in Manipur, Nuh incident and communal tension in many states stain the image of India. In such a situation, the ruling parties and communal organizations add fuel to the fire, they have to be exposed. 

Kharge alleged that the central government is manipulating the data, due to not conducting the 2021 census, 14 crore people were left out of the Food Security Act and about 18 percent people were left out of MNREGA.

What was demanded?
Kharge has further demanded that the process of Census 2021 should be started immediately, along with it caste census should also be conducted, so that the needy sections of the society can get their rights.

He joined the opposition alliance ‘India’ Referring to this, he said that the success of the three meetings of the alliance can be gauged from the attacks of PM Modi and BJP leaders, as our caravan moves forward, their attacks will intensify.
