Defamation Case: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife will file a defamation case of Rs 10 crore against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. Deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, has claimed that the company associated with Sarma’s wife Rinki Bhuyan Sarma has received money from the central government in the form of subsidy.

Congress is claiming that the company associated with Sarma’s wife has received Rs 10 crore as subsidy under the Central Government scheme. Regarding this, Sarma and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi attacked each other fiercely on X.

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi had posted a message on social media on Wednesday (September 13) claiming that the information was given on the website of the Food Processing Ministry. It is said that Sarma’s wife Rinki Bhuyan Sarma’s company Pride East Entertainment Pvt Ltd got Rs 10 crore as loan concession.

What did Himanta Biswa Sarma say?
Sarma replied ‘X’ Posted on , ‘‘I wish to emphasize again that neither my wife nor the company (with which she is associated) has received or claimed any amount from the Government of India. If anyone can provide proof, I am ready to accept any punishment including retirement from public life. ’’
