Bihar Caste Survey Report: Nitish Kumar government of Bihar has released the caste survey data. The report presents population figures of all religions and castes of the state including Hindus, Muslims, Sikh Christians, Jains and Buddhists. The last census was conducted in 2011. If we look at the figures of that report and the latest report, there is a slight difference in the number of Hindus and Muslims.
According to the data of the report, there has been a slight decline in the population of Hindus. At the same time, the number of Muslims has increased. Between 2011 and 2023, the number of Hindus has decreased by 0.8 percent and the number of Muslims has increased by 0.8 percent in Bihar. According to the data of the report, the population of Muslims has comparatively increased in 11 years.
What are the figures of 2011 and 2023
According to the 2011 census, the number of Hindus in Bihar was 81.9 percent, whereas in 2023 this number is 82.7 percent. The difference between the two reports is 0.8 percent. At the same time, if we talk about Muslim population, in the 2023 report the number of Muslims is 17.7 percent, whereas in the 2011 report this figure was 16.9 percent and this difference is 0.8 percent.

Figures of Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities are also given in the report. According to this, the population of Christian, Sikh and Jain communities has decreased. In the 2023 report, the number of Sikhs, Christians and Jains is 0.01 percent, 0.05 percent and 0.009 percent respectively. At the same time, according to the 2011 report, this figure for people of the three religions was 0.02 percent, 0.12 percent and 0.02 percent respectively. In the latest report, compared to earlier, the population of Christians decreased by 0.7 percent, the number of Sikhs decreased by 0.01 percent and the number of people of Jain community decreased by 0.011 percent. Apart from these, the population of Buddhism was 0.02 percent in 2011, which will increase to 0.08 percent in 2023. Whereas, the number of others was 0.1 percent in 2011, which will increase to 0.12 percent in 2023.
